Don’t wage tribal warfare for the elections – Macaroni tells the young people

Prominent Nigerian content creator and activist, Adebowale Debo Adedayo, better known as Mr Macaroni, has advised young Nigerians not to engage in tribal warfare.

This comes just hours after Lagos State Police Commissioner Idowu Owohunwa hosted Macaroni and rapper Folarin Falana, known as Falz, and other critical stakeholders in a meeting on Wednesday to address security concerns within the state in view of the upcoming elections for the governorship.

In a video shared Thursday on his Instagram page, the comedian urged young people to unite and not create intertribal chaos over politicians who will always be friends.

“I know how some of you must feel, I know we are not happy with the way the INEC has conducted elections in certain areas. But the president-elect has been declared, and any offended candidate can go to court, but don’t let anyone use you. Young people must remain one.

“Don’t die for a politician, don’t let any politician use you as a tool. They are friends and young people can choose, but politicians remain politicians. Anyone who tells you as a Yoruba man to attack your Igbo brother or my Igbo brothers is telling you to attack Hausas, Yoruba or any tribe anywhere, my brother, please don’t,” he said.

Recall that in November 2022, the comedian announced via his Twitter account his support for the LP Labor Party presidential candidate Peter Obi ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
