Former Tottenham Hotspur star Darren Bent has expressed ‘alarm’ that Manchester United has entered the Premier League title race.
With a 3-1 win over Mikel Arteta’s team at the Emirates on Wednesday, Manchester City were ahead of the Arsenal on goal difference heading into this weekend’s games.
But, the Arsenal have reclaimed first place, three points ahead of the Cityzens, after defeating Aston Villa 2-4 at Villa Park.
Manchester United is now just five points behind Manchester City and eight points behind Arsenal in the race for the top of the table.
“I really like Ten Hag, and as I’ve mentioned previously, he’s what scares me about the top of the table,” he explained.
“Manchester United, are they in the title race? I believe they are. They’re only five points behind so I think they’re in it.
“He’s what worries me,” he added, describing the Dutchman as a clever manager.
