A Nigerian Air Force maritime patrol plane had to make an emergency landing at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
According to reports, the Cessna Citation CJ3 was on a routine flight to Ilorin when it lost its tyres.
However, the incident forced the aircraft to land on its underside without the use of landing gear.
In a statement issued on Monday, Nigerian Air Force spokesperson Air Commodore Wap Maigida confirmed the incident.
He stated that the aircraft performed a ‘controlled belly landing,’ adding that no casualties were reported.
“A Nigerian Air Force maritime patrol aircraft, a Cessna Citation CJ3, on a routine flight today, 6 February 2023,” Maigida said.
