Mr Ademola Adesola, a staff member at Lagos State University (LASU) Ojo, collapsed and died while queuing in a bank within the campus to withdraw N5,000 fresh notes.
Mr Jeariogbe Olaniyi, Head of the University’s Media and Public Relations Unit, verified the occurrence to the Nigerian Tribune on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, saying the Grade Level 13 officer drove himself to school in the morning.

According to Mr Olaniyi, the deceased left the office at 11.30 a.m. to go to the bank to withdraw money from his account. He slumped while waiting and died as a result.

He stated that the dead had just been in the queue for around 30 minutes when he collapsed and could not be resuscitate.

Olaniyi stated that he was rushed to the university clinic for attention but all efforts to revive him proved abortive.

He said while Mr Adesola’s  d€ath is painful, the university would want to put on record that it had more than one deputy bursar and that the deceased was not one of them.

He said Mr Adesola joined the service of the university as a typist in 1986 and rose to the Chief Executive Officer (Account) on Grade Level 13.
