Former President Olusegun Obasanjo met with Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja.
The two met at the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)-Nigeria Business Council’s first stakeholder meeting, which was hosted at the Sheraton Hotel in Ikeja over the weekend.
Obasanjo, the Council Patron, “commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his foresight in establishing the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) – Nigeria Business Council” at the meeting.
Obasanjo’s Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, revealed that the meeting took place over the weekend at the Sheraton Hotel in Ikeja.
El-Rufai, the Council’s Deputy President, was alleged to have revealed the news when reporting on his recent meeting with the President in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
“The President was excited about the Council,” El-Rufai said. He stated, “With such a Council in Africa, the future of collaboration will be better.”
“Mr. President advised the former President to use his energy and network to establish such formations in countries such as Egypt, Ethiopia, and South Africa,” the governor stated.
Dr. Nteranya Sanginga, President of the Council and the immediate past Director General of the International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA), was also present, as was the governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo, as well as top government officials from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and others.
