With his latest release “Yoga,” Asake is back and better than ever. This folk-inspired West African-flavored track demonstrates the singer’s versatility while remaining true to his roots with street lingua and Yoruba language inclined lyrics.
The addition of celestial vibes elevates the song to new heights, resulting in a distinct and engaging listening experience. Asake fans will not be disappointed by this release. The upbeat and danceable song will get you moving and is a welcome addition to the artist’s discography.

The accompanying video, directed by TG Omori, is a visual feast that captures the vibrant and colorful essence of African culture.
However, and to be completely honest with you. “Yoga,” his most recent release, disappointed me. While the singer stayed true to his street lingua and Yoruba language lyrics, the mix of folk and West African flavors fell flat and failed to make an impression.
Celestial vibes felt out of place and didn’t contribute to the overall experience of the song. The colorful video, directed by TG Omori, showcased the beauty of African culture but was unable to save the underwhelming track. I expected more from Asake, and this release falls short of my expectations.
