Rio Ferdinand praised Everton attacker Neal Maupay’s performance in the Toffees’ 1-0 win over Arsenal on Saturday.
Everton’s striker had another memorable game against Arsenal.
Sean Dyche’s first game since taking over for the fired Frank Lampard was a 1-0 victory over the Premier League leaders.
The home team only needed a header from James Tarkowski in the 60th minute to secure all three points.
Maupay was brought on as a substitution for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and he played an important part in the latter stages.
With his muscular presence, the former Brighton striker was a continual thorn in Arsenal’s side.
Maupay, in particular, got under Oleksandr Zinchenko’s skin, and the two engaged into an unpleasant brawl.
Ferdinand praised the striker for derailing Arsenal’s title bid.
“Maupay has had a couple of games against Arsenal. But he has; I’m not kidding.
“He’s ruffled a few of your feathers. He has had you up!. Zinchenko is agitated today. “He had it out with Guendouzi the last time we played Arsenal against Brighton,” Ferdinand stated.
