The Center for Promoting Private Enterprise, CPPE, has upheld the Supreme Court’s ruling on the use of the old currency, the naira.
The inverse24 reported on Friday in a statement from CPPE director Dr. Muda Yusuf.
The CPPE called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the Central Bank of Nigeria to comply with the Supreme Court’s ruling for the benefit of the people.
According to the CPPE, CBN has been flawed in implementing its naira redesign policy.
Yusuf said the whole exercise was pointless and insensitive. He explained that Nigerians deserved an apology from CBN and Buhari for the way they were handling politics.
“Let us hope that President Buhari, the Governor of the Central Bank and the Attorney General of the Federation will comply with this court order in the interests of the rule of law, good order and the public interest.”
