The general election is quickly coming, and Nigeria will have a new president in only two weeks.
This election features three major candidates: Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). These four front-runner contenders are all vying for the opportunity to lead Nigeria and effect constructive change in the country.
Former Anambra State governor Peter Obi has a strong following of followers known as “ObiDENTs” in Nigeria. These people are enthusiastic about Obi’s vision for the country and have faith in his abilities to effect positive change.
Atiku Abubakar, a former Vice President of Nigeria and one of the main opposition candidates in the 2019 presidential elections, has a large following of supporters known as “AtikuLATEDs”. These supporters are drawn to Atiku’s vast business experience and his commitment to growing the Nigerian economy.
As for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State and a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC) party, his followers have yet to be officially given a moniker. However, some have referred to them informally as “Bu la ba“. Regardless of what they are called, Tinubu’s supporters are known for their unwavering loyalty and commitment to his political vision.
