Chelsea manager Graham Potter has explained why his club lost 1-0 to Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday.
Southampton defeated Chelsea at Stamford Bridge thanks to James Ward-solitary Prowse’s goal of the game.
The Englishman claimed that Chelsea lost some flow and cohesion against Southampton, adding that even their second-half performance was insufficient.
“That was definitely in the first half. “We lost a bit of flow and coherence after returning from the Champions League,” Potter observed in his post-match press conference.
“Southampton mixed the game well, but our performance wasn’t what we wanted in the first half and I accept as much responsibility in that. The second half was excellent, and we deserved to win.
